Middlebury Summer Festival 5k and 1 mile
The event is a community road race held in Middlebury, Indiana, centered at 106 State Street with the start area by East Park. Proceeds support Northridge Middle and High School cross country programs. Both a 5k and 1 mile races are offered as part of the Middlebury Summer Festival.

- 1 mile kids run (ages 4-12)
- 1 mile competitive race (ages 13 and older)
- 1 mile competitive run/walk & 5K run/walk combo
Registration opens January 1, 2026. Prices listed by the organizer are $15 for the 5k, $12 for each 1 mile event, and $20 for the combo. Online registration is available through race morning. Shirts are unisex; youth shirts are unisex youth. The organizer states there are no refunds. Packet pickup and race-day check-in are at East Park.
Timing, awards and rules
Both races will be electronically timed by Watt’s my timing. Awards for the 5k include 1st through 3rd overall male and female and the top three in each age division. 5k age groups are: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. The 1 mile fun run awards the top five boys and top five girls; the competitive 1 mile awards the top five males and top five females. Breaking the current 5k course record earns a $100 prize; breaking the competitive 1 mile record earns $50. Children age 5 and under must run with an adult in the 1 mile.
