Middlebury Summer Festival 5k and 1 mile
The Middlebury Summer Festival 5k and 1 mile is held in Middlebury, Indiana as part of the town's annual summer festival. The course begins on State Street by East Park. Proceeds from the event support Northridge Middle and High School cross country programs.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5K run/walk
- 1 mile kids run (ages 4 to 12)
- 1 mile competitive race (ages 13 and older)
- 1 mile competitive run/walk and 5K combo
Both races are electronically timed by Watt's my timing. Awards for the 5K include first, second, and third overall male and female finishers and top three finishers in each age division. 5K age groups are 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. The 1 mile fun run awards the top five boys and top five girls. The competitive 1 mile awards the top five male and top five female finishers. Children age five and under must be accompanied by an adult in the 1 mile run.
Shirts are unisex with youth shirts for children. There are no refunds. Packet pickup is scheduled for the Friday before the race. Prize drawings will be held and monetary bonuses are offered for breaking current course records: $100 for the 5K and $50 for the competitive 1 mile.
