Vermont Trail and Road Running
The Middlebury Maple Run takes place in Middlebury and the surrounding towns. This event features scenic routes with views of the Green Mountains and the Adirondacks. Participants run on courses that consist of a mix of trails, paved surfaces, and dirt roads. The event is managed by the Addison County Independent and has been held since 2009.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- Half Marathon (USATF-certified)
- 10k (USATF-certified)
- 5k (USATF-certified)
Registration includes several amenities such as a race packet with swag, a bag check service, and free parking. Runners have access to inspiring music along the course and a complimentary post-race breakfast. Top finishers in the events are awarded Vermont Maple Syrup.
The event provides support for participants through a free 18-week training plan available upon registration. For those participating in the half marathon, complimentary pacing services are available for goal times ranging from 1:40 to 2:45. The 5k distance is organized as a family-friendly run.
