MiCHN 5K & 1.5 mile run/walk
This event is a MiCHN fundraiser held as part of Homeschool "Day At The Dome" 2026 at the Michigan State Capitol Complex in Lansing, Michigan. It takes place on October 13, 2026, at the Capitol grounds and uses paved paths and concrete sidewalks within the Capitol complex; no city streets are used. The 5k course is run as two loops.
Distances offered:
- 5k Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 1.5 Mile Walk (1.5 miles)
Registration is handled online and uses age based pricing that is applied automatically during registration. Pricing by age and date ranges is:
- Under 5: free, no t shirt.
- Ages 5 to 12: $10 until 9/22, $15 from 9/23 to 9/30, $20 from 10/1 to 10/13.
- Ages 13 to 18: $20 until 9/22, $25 from 9/23 to 9/30, $30 from 10/1 to 10/13.
- Ages 19 and over: $35 until 9/22, $40 from 9/23 to 9/30, $45 from 10/1 to 10/13.
T shirts are included with registrations completed through September 30; adult and youth sizes are available. Timing is provided by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be available live during the event and sent by text to participants as they cross the finish line.
Awards for the 5k are given to 1st through 3rd place in age and gender categories and include Grand Master and Senior Master recognitions. The 1.5 mile walk has top male and female awards for the 5 to 10 and 11 to 14 age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
