MiCHN 5K & 1-mile run/walk
The event is a fundraiser held on the Michigan State Capitol Complex in Lansing. It features two distances, both offered as run or walk options on paved paths and concrete sidewalks within the Capitol grounds. The 5k uses a 3-loop course entirely on the complex and does not use city streets.

Registration opens June 1, 2026. Special age based pricing is applied automatically during registration and varies by date. Race T-shirts are included with registrations made through September 30, 2026; shirts are not included with registrations after that date. Adult and youth sizes are available for the shirts.
Age based pricing tiers are specified for under 5, ages 5-12, ages 13-18, and ages 19 and older, with multiple price steps as the event date approaches. Under 5s may register for free without a T-shirt.
Awards are given for the 5k and 1 mile. The 5k awards 1st through 3rd place by male and female age categories including youth and adult brackets, plus Grand Master (top male and female over 50) and Senior Master (top male and female over 60). The 1 mile awards top male and female in the 5-10 and 11-14 age groups.
Results are professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation, displayed live during the event and sent by text to finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
