MGM Runway 5K
The Montgomery Regional Airport hosts its second annual runway race on a closed course situated directly on the airfield. This event provides a unique opportunity for participants to traverse the airport grounds and gain a close-up perspective of aircraft operations.
The flat course utilize roughly four miles of the airfield infrastructure. Participants run or walk along Taxiway Bravo, Delta, and Echo, as well as Runway 3-21 south. These paths are located immediately adjacent to the active Runway 3-21, allowing for views of the MGM terminal and aircraft as they land and take off.

- 5k Run/Walk
- 5k Spectator
Registration is required for all participants, and the race is limited to the first 500 people. Access to the racecourse is provided via a mandatory shuttle service to the starting line. Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult, while children aged 5 and under may participate for free when accompanied by a registered adult.
Awards are presented to the fastest overall male and female finishers. Additional awards are distributed across multiple age categories, starting from 14 and under through 75 and over. Overall awards are determined by gun time, while age group awards are based on chip timing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
