MGM Runway 5K

The MGM Runway 5K takes place on April 25, 2026 at Montgomery Regional Airport in Montgomery, AL (4445 Selma Highway, 36108). The event uses a closed airfield course and is organized as a runway run on airport pavements.

The event includes these distances:

5k Run/Walk
5k Spectator

Racers run on Taxiway Bravo, Delta, Echo and Runway 3-21 south; these segments are located alongside the airport's active runway. Participants can run beside aircraft and view aircraft landing and taking off from close range. Registered participants may run or walk the runway. Participants must ride the provided shuttle to access the racecourse.

Registration and participant rules are specified: runners must register to participate; children 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult; children 5 and under are free with a registered adult. The field is limited to the first 500 participants. Packet pick-up is provided at the MGM Intermodal Building (Taxi Building) on earlier listed dates.

Awards are given to the fastest overall male and female. Age group awards are distributed across multiple age categories and are based on chip time, while overall awards use gun time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
