Woodland Creek Memorial Day 5K
The Woodland Creek Memorial Day 5K takes place on May 25, 2026, in Pike Road, Alabama at 8800 Lodge Drive. The event is the fourth annual running of this race and benefits River Region Trails, a local nonprofit. The course is 3.1 miles, described as the same course as the previous year and run clockwise from the Lodge. Course support includes police traffic control at the Lodge entrance and on-site EMS. Awards use five-year age brackets. Medals are handcrafted from Woodland Creek woods. A raffle is part of the post-race activities, and refreshments and post-race items include donuts, fruit, juice boxes, and bottled water. Participants aged 21 and over are eligible for complimentary beer offerings.
Registration and logistics
Base registration fees are tiered: $25 until April 20, 2026, and $35 until the day before the race. Registration closes 16 hours before the event. Kids aged 4 and under are free and do not need to register. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by April 20; afterward shirts are available at packet pickup on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is scheduled for the weekend before the race and there is additional pickup on race morning at the Lodge. New categories for 2026 include a dog category and a stroller category.
