4th Annual Woodland Creek Memorial Day 5K
The Woodland Creek Memorial Day 5K is a community charity event held in Pike Road, Alabama. All proceeds from the race benefit River Region Trails, a nonprofit organization focused on creating outdoor communities in the area. The event is open to participants of various fitness levels and includes the following options:
- 3.1 miles (5K)
- Dog Run
The 3.1 mile course follows a clockwise route starting from The Lodge at 8800 Lodge Drive. There is a one-hour cut-off time for the course. New for this year, the event includes a dedicated category for dogs, with medals and treats awarded to the top three canine finishers.
Participants who register by April 20th are guaranteed a race t-shirt in their size. The event uses five-year age brackets for awards, and the medals are handcrafted from Woodland Creek woods.
The race day environment features a police presence for traffic control and on-site EMS. Post-race activities at The Lodge include a raffle with prizes from local businesses, a bounce house, and yard games. Refreshments such as donuts, fruit, juice, and bottled water are provided, along with two beers for participants aged 21 and over. Parking is available in nearby residential pods such as Black Cherry Court, Red Maple Lane, and Challis Drive. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
