Meteor Mile
The Meteor Mile takes place on 28 August 2026 at Gloucestershire Airport, Staverton, under EA licence 31412. The event uses a measured, traffic free, one mile course along the airport main runway while the airport is closed to take offs and landings.
The event is open to all athletes and families are encouraged to attend. Prizes are awarded to the first three senior male and female athletes, the first junior (U15) male and female athlete, and the first Almost Athlete male and female. On the day entries are not permitted and advance entries close on 24 August 2026. The listed capacity is 250 and the event is currently shown as on a waiting list.
There is limited parking at the airport. Registration takes place landside outside the terminal before participants move airside for the race briefing and walk to the start. The course starts on the access road to the main runway and finishes via the runway back toward the terminal.
Toilets are available at Race HQ but there are no changing or baggage facilities. Participants are advised to leave belongings in their cars. Post race refreshments and the prize giving take place at The Aviator bar. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
