Meteor Mile
The Meteor Mile is scheduled for 28 August 2026 at Gloucestershire Airport, Staverton, operating under EA licence 31412. Advance entries close on Monday 24 August and on-the-day entries will not be permitted.
The event is a measured, traffic free one mile run along the airport main runway while the airport is closed to take-offs and landings for the event. It is open to all athletes and families are encouraged to attend. Prizes are awarded to first three senior male and female athletes with no age categories, to the first junior (U15) male and female, and to the first Almost Athlete male and female.
Entry fees are stated as £12.50 for adults and £5.50 for under 15s. Anybody under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult. Parking is available at the airport but is limited.
Registration takes place landside, outside the terminal, with a briefing given before participants move airside and walk to the start at the far end of the airport. The race course uses the access road to the main runway and returns towards the terminal via the runway itself.
Toilets are available at Race HQ but there are no changing or baggage facilities; participants are advised to leave belongings in their vehicles. Post-race refreshments and the prize presentation will be at The Aviator bar. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
