Meteor Mile

The Meteor Mile is an annual running event held at Gloucestershire Airport, Staverton, typically in late August or early September. The race features a fast, measured one-mile course along the airport’s main runway and access roads, offering a unique experience of running against the sunset on a traffic-free runway closed to air traffic during the event. The course starts on a support road before turning onto the runway, finishing near the terminal building.

The event is inclusive and family-friendly, encouraging participation from all ages, with prizes for top male and female finishers, including juniors under 15, and special awards for club members.
