About the race
The Mermaid Run San Francisco takes place Sunday, April 12, 2026, with the start, finish and expo located on the west side of Crissy Field. Courses run through the Presidio area and along the bay, with ocean and Golden Gate Bridge views on some routes. Distances offered include: - 5K, a very flat 3.1 mile course - 10K, a hilly course that goes into the Presidio and out to a Pacific overlook - 10 Mile Sirena10, the only distance that crosses the Golden Gate Bridge - Mermaid Dash, a youth dash with medal, finisher necklace and post race food - Mermaid Youth 1.5 Mile Dash, youth distance without a race shirt Packet pickup is available on the days before the event and on race morning at Crissy Field; athletes must bring photo identification. There is an optional Mail My Packet service for a fee of $20; that option is not available within 14 days of the event. Aid stations provide water, an electrolyte drink and LUNA bars.
Gel is not supplied on course and runners are asked to dispose of gel wrappers only at aid stations. A bag drop tent is available; participants should bring their own small bag. Strollers are allowed on the 5K and 10K but are not permitted on the Sirena10.
Youth registrations receive a 20 percent discount. Organizers offer future race credits and a cancellation credit policy when requested by email at least 10 days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
