Memorial Day Salute at Springdale Cemetery
The Memorial Day Salute at Springdale Cemetery is an annual running event held at Glen Oak Park on North Prospect Road in Peoria, IL. The event is presented as part of the Peoria Holiday Race Series and is an event by and benefiting the Illinois Valley Fuller Center For Housing. Timing and scoring are provided by ShaZam Racing.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K run/walk
- 1 Mile run/walk (untimed)
Packet pickup is available Friday, 5/22 from 11:00am to 6:00pm at RC Outfitters, and on race day at Lower Glen Oak Park from 7:00am to 8:00am. The first 200 registrants receive a race packet. Shirts are available while supplies last; registrations through May 13 are guaranteed a shirt, later registrations are not guaranteed a shirt.
Course notes state the 5K start and finish are along the boulevard in Lower Glen Oak Park. A course map for the 1 Mile will be added soon. Parking is available at Woodruff Career & Technical Center, 1800 NE Perry Ave, Peoria.
Awards for the 5K include overall top 1 male and top 1 female by gun time, overall veteran awards by gun time, and age-group awards by net time. Rules note no double dipping for overall awards while double dipping is allowed for veteran awards. A Most Patriotic Outfit award carries a $100 cash prize.
