Memorial Day Salute at Springdale Cemetery
The Memorial Day Salute at Springdale Cemetery is the ninth annual event held in Glen Oak Park on North Prospect Road in Peoria, Illinois. The event offers two distances to accommodate different participants.
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Run/Walk (untimed)
Proceeds benefit the Illinois Valley Fuller Center For Housing and the event is part of the Peoria Holiday Race Series. Timing and scoring are provided by ShaZam Racing. Packet pickup is available the Friday before the event at RC Outfitters and on race day at Lower Glen Oak Park. Parking is available at Woodruff Career & Technical Center, 1800 NE Perry Ave, Peoria.
The 5K course starts and finishes along the boulevard in Lower Glen Oak Park. Awards for the 5K include top overall male and female results by gun time, veteran overall awards by gun time, and age group awards by net time across standard age categories. Rules note that overall awards do not allow double dipping while veteran overall awards do allow double dipping. The event also offers a Most Patriotic Outfit prize with a $100 cash award.
