The Melrose Run for Women is an annual running event held at Pine Banks Park in Melrose. The main event is a 3.5 mile run and walk that follows a course through the Swains Pond section of Melrose. The event is presented by the Melrose Running Club with support from a title sponsor.
Net proceeds from the event benefit Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV). MAAV works to break the cycle of domestic violence by raising community awareness, educating young people, and linking victims to resources. Funds raised help support programs in Melrose schools and services for victims of domestic violence.
A series of races for children ages 10 and under is part of the event program. Official race shirts are available to the first 400 registrants in the 3.5 mile race. Information and organizational details are provided by the event organizers and listed sponsors.
