Melon Dash 5K : Cave City, AR (July 25, 2026)
The Melon Dash 5K is a community running event that starts and finishes at Cave City Park on W. South St., Cave City, AR 72521. The event supports the Cave City High School Cross Country and Track and Field teams; those teams are hosting the race. The course has been the same since 2023.
Registration details include an online entry fee of $25. The fee includes race entry, a T shirt for runners registered by July 15, a slice of Cave City watermelon, and a ticket to the Kiwani's pancake breakfast. Runners who register after July 15 or on race day may receive a T shirt on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. Day of race registration is available for a $30 fee payable by cash or check only.
Timing for the event is provided by Stearns Race Timing. The race is a fundraiser and, in the event of a weather cancellation related to lightning or other unsafe conditions, there are no refunds. The organizers plan to run in rain and will delay the start if lightning is present; the event is tied to the watermelon festival and will not be postponed to another week.
