Experience Independence 5K

The event takes place on July 11, 2026, in Batesville, Arkansas, at Eagle Mountain Elementary. It offers two course options:

5K run
5K untimed walk

All entry fees and donations support a memorial scholarship fund for local students. A donation-only option is available for people who do not participate in the run or walk. Registrants may choose to receive a T-shirt and may participate in the untimed memorial walk without a bib or RFID tag.

A special T-shirt is reserved for entrants registered by June 26; additional shirts will be available afterward on a first come, first served basis until supply runs out. Awards are planned for Top 3 Overall Men, Top 3 Overall Women, and top three finishers in 10-year age groups. With Riverside Park under construction, the course will start and finish at Eagle Mountain Elementary. Packet pickup is scheduled at the school on July 10.

The presenting sponsor manages the scholarship fund and a local chamber of commerce supports the event. The entry fee is $30. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
