Event Overview
The Melon Dash is a summer running event held at Little Elm Park in Little Elm, Texas. The event features updated courses for the longer distances and takes place at the Little Elm Park Boat Ramp area. Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 10K
- 5K
- 5K Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run
In-person participants receive a short-sleeve tech shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a race bib. The venue provides free parking and a bag check tent for small personal items. Strollers are permitted on the course, provided they start at the back of the corral. A virtual registration option is also available, allowing participants to complete their run at a location of their choice.
Post-Race Activities
The event includes an after-party with music provided by a DJ. Participants can access a beer garden, provided they are over 21 years of age. Refreshments include ice-cold watermelon for all attendees. The post-race program also features a watermelon eating contest, awards, and prizes.
Team and VIP Options
Groups and clubs can utilize a designated community area for tents and gatherings. A VIP package is available for a limited number of participants, which includes reserved parking and a summer fun kit. The event also serves as a fundraising platform for several organizations, including Animal Rescue Crusaders of Texas and Girls on the Run DFW.
