Mellor 10k Trail Run - Sun 15 March 2026
The Mellor 10k Trail Run is an approximately 10 km off-road race organised by Mellor Lacrosse Club at Mellor Sports Club on the Stockport / High Peak border. The route gains around 300 metres of elevation and combines a short closed-road start with tracks and trails through the River Goyt valley, a section through Strines, a steady climb past The Fox Inn at Brookbottom onto Mellor Moor, and a descent via Mellor Golf Course, Tarden and Knowle Woods back to Mellor Sports Club.
The course surface is mainly off-road and includes paths, tracks, open farmland, short sections on country lanes, a few stiles and some steps. Mud is to be expected on some sections. The route is fully waymarked and marshalled so no navigation is required. Chip timing is used and a professional race photographer will be present. All finishers receive an event memento.
There is no water station on course; water will be available at the finish so runners should carry their own supply if needed. Dogs are not permitted on the course. The event is open to runners aged 16 and over. Entry information includes an entry fee of £18.50, no entries on the day, a generous two hour cut off for completion, and limited parking at the sports club on the day with alternative public carparks in Marple Bridge and a nearby train station.
