Event Details

Melissa's Race to Battle Brain Cancer is a community event supporting brain cancer research. The 11th annual event takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

The event features two options:

In-Person 5K Run/Walk: This is a chip-timed event starting at Civic Center Park, located at 401 E Seminole Ave in Sanford, Florida.
5K Your Way: A virtual option where participants can walk, run, hike, bike, or use a treadmill to complete a 5K distance anywhere, anytime before the in-person race day.

All proceeds from registrations, donations, and fundraising support the Melissa Vosburg Endowed Chair in Neuro-Oncology Research. Participants aged 12 and under on race day receive discounted registration. The event includes a butterfly release as part of its closing ceremony.
