Event Overview
The Megalodon Weekend is a multi-distance running event held at the Venice Airport Festival Grounds in Venice, Florida. The 17th annual edition of this event takes place over two days in March, offering participants the choice of individual races or a combined multi-day challenge.
Race Options
Participants can select from the following distances and formats:
- Shark's Tooth 10K: A 10 km race held on Saturday.
- Shark Fin 5K: A 5 km race held on Sunday.
- Megalodon Challenge: A combination event where participants complete both the 10 km on Saturday and the 5 km on Sunday.
- Virtual Options: Virtual versions are available for the 5 km, 10 km, and the challenge for those unable to attend in person.
Participant Information
Those registered for the Megalodon Challenge receive a race shirt, individual medals for both the 10 km and 5 km events, and a specific Megalodon Mega Medal. Registration for single events also includes a race shirt, though participants may opt out of the shirt for a reduced registration fee.
A flexible registration option allows participants to mix formats, completing one event in person at the festival grounds and the other virtually. For participants choosing the fully virtual options, race materials and memorabilia are shipped directly to their provided address with shipping costs included in the registration fee.
