Meet the Minotaur in Crowsnest Pass, June 26 to 28, 2026

Meet the Minotaur is a three-day event in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, featuring multiple skyrunning races and a Trifecta option. Several courses are certified by the International Skyrunning Federation and the SkyRace serves as the host race for the 2026 Canadian National Skyrunning Championships.

Main races and distances

  • Arc'teryx Minotaur SkyRace - 33.5 km, 2900 m vertical gain, 12 hour cut-off
  • Mini Taur 10 km - 10.5 km, about 950 m vertical gain, 5 hour cut-off
  • Minotaur VK - 4 km, 970 m vertical gain

The SkyRace is presented as an ISF certified course and carries cash prizes for the top ten male and female finishers. The Mini Taur shares the first 5 km of the SkyRace and is listed as the host race for continental youth skyrunning championships in 2026; top three male and female finishers receive cash prizes. The Minotaur VK is a certified vertical kilometer held at Castle Mountain Resort.

The Minotaur Trifecta combines the VK, SkyRace, and Mini Taur into a solo challenge. Registration policies noted by the organizer include bib transfers at organizer discretion, no deferrals or rollovers, a 50% refund available until March 31, price increases on specific dates, and age minimums that vary by event.
