Meet the Minotaur : June 26 to 28, 2026

Meet the Minotaur is a weekend of skyrunning events in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, with a vertical kilometer at Castle Mountain Resort and mountain races around Crowsnest Pass. The Arc'teryx Minotaur SkyRace is an International Skyrunning Federation certified course and the host race for the 2026 Canadian National Skyrunning Championships. The Mini-Taur 10 km is the 2026 host race for the continental youth skyrunning championships.

Races and distances

  • Arc'teryx Minotaur SkyRace - 33.5 km, 2900 m, 12 hour cut-off
  • Mini-Taur 10 km - 10.5 km, 950 m, 5 hour cut-off
  • Minotaur VK - 4 km, 970 m vertical

The Mini-Taur includes the same first 5 km as the SkyRace and climbs Bluff Mountain. The Minotaur VK follows mixed single track, talus, scree, and cat track above Castle Mountain Resort.

Entry rules and prizes

The SkyRace offers cash prizes for the top 10 male and female finishers. The Mini-Taur awards cash to the top 3 male and female finishers. A new Minotaur Trifecta combines the VK, SkyRace, and Mini-Taur; the Trifecta is a solo event.

Race policies include bib transfers at the organizer's discretion, no deferrals or rollovers to future years, and a 50% refund available until March 31. Price increases are noted for April 1 and June 1. Participants may change distance if space permits; SkyRace entrants who move to the Mini-Taur will not receive a refund for the price difference.
