The Divide 200

The Divide 200 is based at Castle Mountain Resort, Pincher Creek No. 9, Alberta, and highlights sections of the Great Divide Trail through the Castle and Crowsnest region of the southern Rockies. The course includes single track, double track, a small amount of road, cross-country sections, some bushwhacking and scrambling, and alpine ridge travel in remote backcountry.

Available race formats:

  • 200 mile solo
  • 115 km (marketed as 100k) solo
  • 200 mile relay, teams of 2 to 8

Checkpoints are placed every 20 to 40 km depending on the section. The route requires route-finding skills in places despite being a prescribed course. Competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach; devices are provided by the organizers for navigation and safety. The race field is capped at 100 entrants.

For 2026 there are a limited number of relay spots and a new 100k course. Pricing is offered in early bird, regular, and last-minute tiers for each category, with a 50% deposit option available for the 200 mile solo to hold a spot; the balance and refund and price change policies follow the stated event terms. The 200 mile solo podium awards cash prizes in Canadian dollars of 5,000, 2,500 and 1,750 for first through third place for each gender category.
