The Divide 200

The Divide 200 is a 200-mile ultramarathon held in the Castle Mountain Resort and Crowsnest region of the southern Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. The route highlights portions of the Great Divide Trail and emphasizes alpine travel and ridge walking through remote backcountry. Terrain on the course includes single track, double track, some road, cross-country sections, bushwhacking, and scrambling. Checkpoints are spaced roughly every 20 to 40 km. The event is intended for competitors with substantial ultramarathon experience and proficiency in alpine travel; sections require route-finding. Competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach device provided by the organizers. The race is open to solo entrants and is capped at 100 participants.

Registration, fees and prizes

Registration is offered with payment plan options. Entrants may pay in full or use a two-instalment plan that requires a 50% deposit at registration and a balance due by March 31; a price increase and a 10% nonrefundable fee apply in specified circumstances. Listed registration prices include an early bird fee of $1,995 (CDN), a regular price of $2,150 (CDN), and a late price of $2,200 (CDN). A 50% deposit option is available at listed deposit amounts. The event offers prize money for the top three male and female finishers: $5,000, $2,500, and $1,750 (all in CDN). Pacers must register separately and complete a waiver.
