The Divide 200
The Divide 200 is a 200-mile ultramarathon event held at Castle Mountain Resort in Alberta, Canada in August 2026. It is described as Canada's only 200-mile race.
The course follows portions of the Great Divide Trail through the Castle and Crowsnest region of the southern Rocky Mountains. The terrain includes single track, double track, a small amount of road, cross-country travel, bushwhacking, and scrambling. The event emphasizes alpine travel, ridge walks, and exploration of remote backcountry.
This event is intended for individuals with extensive ultramarathon experience and proficiency in alpine travel. Some sections require route-finding. Checkpoints are located every 20 to 40 kilometers along the route. All competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach device, which is provided by the organizers.
The race is open to solo competitors and is capped at 100 entrants. A prize purse is awarded to the top three female and male finishers, with amounts of $5,000, $2,500, and $1,750 Canadian dollars respectively. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
