About the Event
The Meech Lake Triathlon, also known as the Mike Collingwood Memorial Triathlon, is a historic multisport event first held in 1983. Located at O’Brien Beach in Chelsea, QC, the race takes place within the scenic Gatineau Park. The event is limited to 300 participants and is open to individuals aged 16 years and older.
The triathlon consists of the following distances:
- 1200m swim
- 27km bike
- 6.4km run
The swim portion is held in the clear waters of Meech Lake. The bike course features the hills of Gatineau Park, and the run follows a scenic route through the National Park. Athletes must complete the entire course within a 3-hour time limit.
Registration includes professional timing, a personalized race bib, and a swim cap. On-course nutrition and post-race snacks are provided for all athletes. Participants can pick up their race bibs the day before the event in Ottawa or on race morning at P9 in Gatineau Park. Parking for the event is located at lots P8 and P9.
