Meech Lake Triathlon : Mike Collingwood Memorial Triathlon
The Meech Lake Triathlon takes place at O’Brien Beach in Gatineau Park and has been named the Mike Collingwood Memorial Triathlon since 2007. The first edition was held in July 1983. The listed edition is sold out.
The race format includes a lake swim, a bike leg, and a run. The race option shown lists 1200 m swim, 21.7 km bike, and 6.4 km run. Participants must be at least 16 years old and the event is limited to 300 entrants.
Course features include calm clear water for the swim, the hills of Gatineau Park on the bike, and a scenic run route through the national park. Parking is available at P9, Skyline, or P8; athletes can set up run gear at the finish area and use P11 to set up transition one.
Registration includes a virtual bike fit, a personalized race bib, a swim cap, professional timing, on-course nutrition, professional race photography, podium prizes for the top three male, female, and non binary finishers, and snacks after the race. Volunteers and event staff are associated with a local charity and donations are offered at registration.
Bib pickup occurs on July 9 and July 10 at locations in Ottawa and at P9 in Gatineau Park. Deadlines are listed for shirt and medal orders and for online registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
