About the race
Courons Gatineau is a city running event organized by Gatineau Loppet that highlights the region's waterways under the slogan « D’une rivière à l’autre ». The event includes several race distances and on-site animation with a festive program that continues into the evening and nearby bars and restaurants. The event is sanctioned OR Athlétisme Québec.
Distances offered:
- 1 km for young children
- 2 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 15 km
The start and finish for all races are located in front of the Quai-des-Cageux at 930 rue Jacques-Cartier in Gatineau. Organizers encourage the use of public transit or active transportation because parking is limited and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Public transit access notes include the STO bus 67, which stops at the corner of boulevard Gréber and rue Jacques-Cartier; participants can use the Plani-Bus tool for route planning. A supervised bike parking area is available on the ruelle du Como beside the bag check; that service is provided by a local sports organization and accepts voluntary contributions. Additional parking is located in parc de la Baie, accessible via 93 rue de la Baie, with volunteers directing vehicles on site.
Organizers also invite donations to the Garde-rivière des Outaouais for watershed protection. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
