Canada Army Run
The Canada Army Run is a community event in Ottawa that connects the public with the Canadian Armed Forces. Participants can run, walk, or roll through a course featuring well-known landmarks. The event serves as a fundraiser for the military community, specifically supporting the Soldier On and Support Our Troops programs.
The following distances are available for the in-person event:
- 5K
- 10K
- 21.1K (Half Marathon)
- 5K + 10K Challenge
- 5K + 21.1K Challenge
The course features markers at every kilometre, water stations, and portable toilets located near aid stations. Registration fees cover race kit items, on-course amenities, post-race nutrition, and a signature dog tag finisher's medal. Participants who complete the multi-distance challenges also receive a unique Challenge Coin.
A virtual race window is available during September for those who cannot attend in person. Virtual participants can complete their chosen distance on their own route or a treadmill. Options for virtual runners include the Commander’s Challenge, which combines the 5K, 10K, and 21.1K distances. Results for virtual races can be uploaded through fitness apps or manual entry.
