Canada Army Run : Event overview
Canada Army Run takes place in Ottawa with an in-person edition on September 20, 2026 and a virtual race window from September 4 to 25, 2026. The event connects civilian participants with members of the Canadian Armed Forces and supports military community charities.
Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 10K
- 21K (Half Marathon)
- Combination events that award a medal for each completed distance
Participants earn a dog tag finisher medal for each individual distance. Competitors who complete multi-distance challenges receive a unique Challenge Coin. Registration fees include official Canada Army Run merchandise, the dog tag medal, on-course amenities and post-race nutrition. Virtual race kits are shipped within Canada.
On-course services for the in-person event include kilometre markers, water stations and portable toilets near aid stations. Virtual results may be uploaded using the ASICS Runkeeper app, a connected fitness device or manual time upload. Since 2008, the event has raised more than 5 million dollars for Support Our Troops and Soldier On to assist members, families and those who are ill or injured in the Canadian Armed Forces community.
