Medina Turkey Chase 4 Mile & Kid's 1 Mile : 2026
The Medina Turkey Chase is an uptown Thanksgiving morning running event held in Medina's Public Square. The event is organized in collaboration with Mid-Ohio Race Management and the local race management teams for the Medina Half Marathon and the Medina Twin Sizzler, and it returns for its fifth year in 2026.
The event offers two distances:
- 4 mile race following the Medina Thanksgiving Pie route
- 1 mile kids race reserved for children aged 12 and under
Each registration includes electronic chip timing, an event shirt, free race photos, post-race refreshments, and a high-quality finisher's medal. Additional incentives include a chance to earn a free pie for early finishers, entry into a Brooks shoe-related raffle if a runner beats the turkey, and distribution of pies at the finish line rather than a formal awards ceremony. Special recognition is given to the first male and first female finishers as Top Turkey. The first 100 men and first 100 women to finish receive free pies.
Proceeds benefit Medina Shop With a Cop and Birthcare of Medina County. Shop With a Cop connects underprivileged children with local police departments for holiday shopping, and to date the event has donated nearly $20,000 to that program.
