About the race
The Medina Turkey Chase 4 Mile & Kid's 1 Mile takes place on 11/26/2026 at the City of Medina - Public Square. The event is presented by Mid-Ohio Race Management together with the local race management teams for the Medina Half Marathon and Medina Twin Sizzler. 2026 marks the fifth year of this uptown Thanksgiving morning race.
Distances:
- 4-Mile Race - Medina Thanksgiving Pie Route
- 1-Mile Kids' Race - reserved for kids 12 and under
Each registration includes electronic chip timing, an event shirt, free race photos, and post-race refreshments. Finishers receive a high-quality finisher's medal, and entrants have a chance to earn a free pie; the first 100 men and first 100 women to finish will receive pies at the finish line. Special recognition will be given to the top male and top female finishers as the Top Turkey awards. There is no formal awards ceremony; pies and medals are distributed at the finish area. Registered adult entrants are also entered into a Brooks shoe raffle if they can beat the event turkey.
Entry fees are tiered: the 4 Mile is $35 through 8/16, $40 from 8/17 through 11/25, and $45 on race day if spaces remain. The Kid's 1-Mile is $25 through 8/16, $30 from 8/17 through 11/25, and $35 on race day if spaces remain.
Proceeds benefit Medina Shop With a Cop and Birthcare of Medina County. To date, nearly $20,000 has been donated to Shop With a Cop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
