Selfless Elf 5k
The Selfless Elf 5k is the 14th annual run and walk held on December 19, 2026 at Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank's Main Campus in Akron, Ohio. The event benefits the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and combines a festive holiday theme with local hunger relief.
Two registration categories are offered: a 5K Run/Walk for participants who plan to run or jog at any point, and a 5K Competitive Walk for participants who will walk the entire course without running. The race is chip-timed at both the start and finish to provide accurate results, and runners and walkers use different bib colors to distinguish categories. Team registration is available and a new award recognizes the fastest team of four or more people.
Registration opens December 31, 2025 and closes December 18, 2026; the listed registration fee is $40. Transfers between runners and walkers are allowed prior to the event start. All participants receive a long-sleeve race t-shirt and striped elf socks. For safety, the event does not permit dogs.
Awards are distributed after the event at the awards booth inside the warehouse, and live results are available on the RunToYou App. Awards include top male and female overall and age group placings for both the 5K Run/Walk and the 5K Competitive Walk, plus special recognitions such as Most Dashing, Top VIP Elf for fundraising, and Fastest 4-Person Team.
