Event overview
The Selfless Elf 5k takes place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank's Main Campus, 350 Opportunity Parkway, Akron, OH 44307. The event is the 13th annual edition and benefits the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. It is listed as a member event of the Ohio Challenge Series.
Race format and logistics
The event includes two categories, both over 5 km:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 5k Competitive Walk
Registration is $40 and the price increases after December 19, 2025. Registration separates participants who will run or jog at any point from those who will walk the entire course; different bib colors will distinguish the two categories. The race will be chip-timed with timing at both the start and finish lines. Team registration is new this year, with an award for the fastest team of four or more.
All participants receive a long-sleeve race t-shirt and striped elf socks. The event is dog-free. Awards include top three male and female overall and top three per age group for both run/walk and competitive walk categories, plus additional awards for best dressed, top fundraiser, and fastest four-person team.
