Medina Rec Indoor Tri 2027
The Medina Rec will host an indoor triathlon, a biathlon, and a dedicated youth tri on February 7, 2027, at the Medina Rec Center, 855 Weymouth Road, Medina, OH. The facility is described as a 110,000 sq ft recreation center and is now in its 23st year following an extensive makeover. A photo ID is required for all nonmembers when entering the building.
The event schedules multiple small waves rather than a single mass start. There are six triathlon waves and one biathlon wave. Each wave is limited to 12 participants. Adult race segments use a format of 20 minutes per segment with 5 minute transition periods. The youth wave for ages 7 to 15 uses 10 minute segments for swim, bike, and run with 10 minute transitions between segments. Participants begin in the pool area with an assigned wave.
The biathlon wave consists of a timed bike segment followed by a transition and a timed run on the indoor track. If the event sells out, the organizer may open a standby list.
