Event overview
Medina Rec Indoor Tri 2026 is the fourth annual indoor triathlon, biathlon, and youth tri held on February 8, 2026 at the Medina Rec Center in Medina, Ohio. The event lists 62 participants. The Medina Rec Center is described as a 110,000 sq ft recreation facility and is in its 22st year. A photo ID is required for all nonmembers when entering the building.
Format and waves
The event uses wave starts rather than single mass starts. There are six triathlon waves and one biathlon wave. Each wave is limited to 12 participants. Several named waves are already sold out while others have limited spots. The youth wave is for ages 7-15 and requires Medina Rec membership.
Adult triathlon segments are 20 minutes each with 5-minute transition periods. The youth triathlon uses 10-minute swim, bike, and run segments with 10-minute transitions. The biathlon consists of a 20-minute bike segment, a 5-minute transition, and a 20-minute run on the indoor track.
