The event is a MORM timed event and offers several race distances for participants of different ages. All participants receive a finisher medal or award and an ice cream treat from The Dreamsicle Ice Cream Truck. Other post-race refreshments are provided. T-shirts featuring student-created artwork are available for purchase until April 17, with registration options that include or exclude a shirt.
Race courses and format:
- 5K - timed route through Medina neighborhoods, finisher's medal and ice cream treat
- 1 Mile - timed route through Medina, finisher's medal and ice cream treat
- Half Mile Kids' Run - two laps on Medina High School track, finisher award and ice cream
The 1 Mile and 5K start and finish near High School Entrance "D" and wind through local neighborhoods before returning to the high school. The half mile Fun Run takes place on the high school track during the track and field event so track athletes and families can observe the youngest participants.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Medina City Schools Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit funded by parents, community members, and local businesses and invests over $80,000 each year in classroom projects, student programs, scholarships, and staff awards.
