Turkey Burnoff 2026 at Seneca Creek State Park
The event is held at Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, Maryland and features multiple race distances on the park road network. The course runs on paved roads with gently rolling hills, crosses a dam, and passes through wooded sections. Both the 5 mile and 10 mile courses begin and end at the same location within the park. Course maps are provided for each distance.
Distances
- 5 mile race, one loop
- 10 mile race, two loops
- Young Run, 2.78 km, youth series (no timing chips)
Parking at the park is limited; carpooling is recommended. The park gate at the ranger booth closes before the event, and arriving prior to gate closure is necessary to park in the grassy field near the start and finish. Arriving later requires parking in the administrative lot and walking about half a mile to the start, including an additional hill.
Registration and equipment notes are specific to membership status. The race is free for club members who have a 2026 bib and chip; members may exchange an older chip or provide a $5 chip deposit if needed. Non-members pay a registration fee that includes processing. Online registration remains open through the event and bib and chip pickup occurs on race morning near the start. The event is staffed by volunteers. Monetary refunds are not provided for non-members, though registrations may be transferred through the club office. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
