Event Details

The MCRRC Seneca Creek Greenway Trail Marathon & 50K takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026. The event is held at Seneca Creek State Park, specifically the Nuthatch Pavilion on Clopper Road in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Distances

The event offers two distance options:

  • Marathon (26.2 miles)
  • 50K (31.07 miles)

Participants registered for either distance have the option to choose their final distance during the race. Runners can stop at the marathon finish line or continue to complete the 50K.

Course Information

The course follows the Seneca Creek Greenway Trail and other parallel trails, featuring single-track sections. Due to bridge reconstruction on the Mink Hollow Trail, a marked detour will be in place on both the outbound and inbound sections of the course. A map of the detour is available on the event website. The minimum age for participation is 15 years.

Registration and Inclusions

Registration is open for both distances. All participants receive a custom race bib, a short-sleeved tech shirt, and a finisher's medal. Members of MCRRC (Montgomery County Road Runners Club) are eligible for a $5 registration discount, which is applied automatically at checkout for verified members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
