Going Green Track Meet 2026 - Gaithersburg High School
The Going Green Track Meet is an evening track meet held on July 31 at Gaithersburg High School. The program features youth distance races, multiple heats of two-mile and one-mile races organized by pace, and a 4x400 relay contested by teams of four.
Distances and events:
- 400 m youth run
- 800 m youth run
- Two-mile races in multiple seeded heats
- One-mile races in multiple seeded heats
- 4x400 relay, teams of four runners
This meet is part of MCRRC’s low-key race series and the youth running series. MCRRC members may attend this low-key race without an event registration fee but must obtain a 2026 bib and chip in advance; members with older chips may exchange them, and a $5 chip deposit applies for those without an older chip. Non-members pay a registration fee of $22 for ages 18 and over and $11.60 for participants under 18. Online registration is available through the day of the event. Bib and chip pickup takes place near the start area, with volunteers on site to assist.
Youth runs do not use timing chips. All youth participants must be registered by a parent or guardian prior to race day. The event is staffed by volunteers. Monetary refunds are not provided for non-member registrations, though transfers to other low-key events may be arranged through the club office.
