McElveen Race For The ARK : Summerville, SC
The 27th Annual McElveen Race For The ARK takes place in Downtown Summerville and is organized to support The ARK, which provides support services to families living with Alzheimer’s or related dementia. Both the 5K run/walk and the 1-mile fun run begin and end at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue, Summerville.
The course is USATF certified (SC23001BW) and runs through historic downtown Summerville. There are three water stations along the route. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and in several age groups. An additional prize of $100 will be awarded to the first male and the first female who break the course records (male 15:40, female 17:51).
Packet pickup and on-site registration are available the day before at The ARK House, 502 W. 5th North St., and on race morning at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. During packet pickup and on race day the 5K registration fee is $40. On-site 1-mile registration is $15 single or $35 family of four without T-shirts. The event is held rain or shine and there are no refunds. Runners showing a race bib and valid 21+ ID may receive one free beer; non-alcoholic options are available.
