MBNA Chester 10K
The MBNA Chester 10K is a city based road race held in March 2027 and staged around Chester city centre and nearby villages. Organisers mark the event as the tenth anniversary of the race; it is described as a multi-award event that typically sells out.
The course starts near Nuns Road by Chester Racecourse, heads north-west out of the city on wide roads, passes close to the village of Mollington, and returns through the city centre past the Victorian town hall and the medieval cathedral, finishing on Eastgate Street near the Eastgate Clock. The route is on road terrain with minimal elevation and one drink station. The event uses four start waves, with the Orange Wave aimed at faster runners and those seeking the fastest times.
Racing is licensed by UK Athletics and entrants must be at least 15 years old on race day. A 90 minute cut-off applies. All finishers receive a technical finisher T-shirt, a bespoke medal and a goody bag that includes post‑race nutrition.
Prize money is awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the Orange Wave, and age group winners receive cash prizes. Recorded course bests include a men's best of 29:20 (2023) and a women's best of 33:50 (2025). An event village at Nuns Road provides bag drop, toilets, food and drink, and merchandise.
