Event Overview
The MBNA Chester 10K is a 10 km running event in Chester. The 2026 edition will be the 9th running of the race. It is described as the first event of the Chester Triple Medal series and as Chester's only city-based 10K.
The Course
The route is described as a fast course. It starts on Nuns Road next to Chester Racecourse. The course heads north-west out of the city on wide roads, passes near the village of Mollington, and returns to Chester city centre. Runners pass the Victorian town hall and Medieval Cathedral before finishing on Eastgate Street with the Eastgate Clock as a backdrop.
Additional Information
The event has an official race charity, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, though runners can also support their own chosen causes. The event has won a gold award for outstanding events from Racecheck, where it is listed as the top-rated 10K.
