Event overview

The MBNA Chester 10K is a city road race of 10K scheduled for 8 March 2026. The 2026 edition will be the ninth running of this annual event. It is presented as Chester's only city-based 10K and is the first event in the Chester Triple Medal series.

Course

The route starts on Nuns Road next to Chester Racecourse and heads northwest out of the city along wide roads. It passes close to the village of Mollington, then returns to Chester city centre, passing the Victorian town hall and the Medieval Cathedral. The finish is on Eastgate Street with the Eastgate Clock as a backdrop.

Records, charity and volunteers

Recorded course bests are 29:20 for men (2023) and 33:50 for women (2025). Runners can take part on behalf of the event’s official charity, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, or for other charities.
