Mayor's 5K on the 5th Runway - 12th Annual
The Mayor's 5K on the 5th Runway is a road running event held on 10/10/2026 at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, with the event village at Atlanta Fire Station #33 and parking at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA 30337. The course is USATF certified and serves as a qualifier for the AJC Peachtree Road Race.
Multiple participation categories are offered, including Timed 5K, Untimed 5K, a premium Mayor's Heat category, a wheelchair and push-assist division, and a virtual 5K option. Virtual participants will not be eligible to attend the in-person event. Timed runners are eligible for awards; results are posted after the race and awards are based on net time.
All participants must be age 10 or older; participants under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration is limited and some categories have restricted availability. All entrants will be vetted by airport and federal security and must present matching government-issued photo identification at check-in. Registrations are nontransferable and nonrefundable.
Event services include a commemorative T-shirt and medal for finishers, limited warm-up space, water provided on course, shuttle service between the GICC parking lot and the race site, and sustainability initiatives such as shoe donation, recycling, and compostable service ware.
