Mayor's 5K on the 5th Runway - 12th Annual
The 12th annual Mayor's 5K on the 5th Runway is set for October 10, 2026 at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport with event staging near Atlanta Fire Station #33 and parking at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA.
The race uses a USATF certified 5K course and serves as a qualifier for the AJC Peachtree Road Race. Registration is limited to the first 2,000 participants. The event offers multiple entry categories including timed and untimed 5K options, a Mayor's Heat premium category, a wheelchair and push assist category, and a virtual run option for remote participation. Virtual entrants receive a commemorative T shirt and medal by mail and are not eligible to attend the in person race.
Participants must be age 10 or older; entrants under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. All participants are subject to airport and federal security vetting based on submitted name and birth date. Mandatory race number pickup on race morning requires a government issued photo ID that matches the registered name. Registrations are nontransferable and nonrefundable. Only registered participants will be allowed on airport property and spectators are not permitted.
Timed runners qualify for awards based on net time with age group awards across standard categories. Event amenities include a commemorative T shirt and medal for participants, limited warm up space, on site water, shuttle service from the GICC parking area, and specific restrictions on items allowed on airport property.
