Event Details
The Mayberry Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K is an 18th annual event held on November 7, 2026, in Mount Airy, North Carolina. The races start at 200 North Main Street in downtown Mount Airy and finish at Riverside Park on Riverside Drive. Participants can run a 5K, a 10K, or a Half Marathon.
Registration
Registration fees vary by distance and date. Early registration (through September 27, 2026) costs $35 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K, and $65 for the Half Marathon. Standard registration (from September 27 through race day) costs $40 for the 5K, $50 for the 10K, and $80 for the Half Marathon. Registration for youth under 18 is $25 for any distance. Online registration closes at 7:00 AM on race day, with in-person registration available via cash, check, or credit card.
Course & Support
All courses are certified by USATF and described as flat and fast. They start in historic downtown Mount Airy, proceed down Main Street, and onto the Granite City Greenway, a paved greenway trail. There is a three-hour time limit for the Half Marathon, with course support ending at 11:00 AM. Aid stations offering water and Gatorade are located at multiple points on each course. Restrooms are available at the start, finish, and at specified mile markers on the courses.
Participant Perks
All finishers receive a custom medal. Participants registered by October 25 are guaranteed a long-sleeve performance race shirt, with additional shirts available on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is at Thirsty Souls Community Brewing on Friday before the race and on Saturday morning. A gear check service is offered on race morning. At the finish line, an assortment of breakfast foods, fruit, and water is provided for runners.
Logistics
Free public parking is available off Main Street near the start. A shuttle runs between the start area and the finish line at Riverside Park from 6:00 AM until after awards. Showers and locker rooms are available post-race at the nearby Reeves Community Center. Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers and the top three in each age group for all distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
