Unique Abilities 5K Run/Walk
The Unique Abilities 5K is a community run and walk hosted by Preston's Path Foundation at Cooper's Beach in Southampton, New York, held in May. The event supports Autism Acceptance and inclusion and represents an early effort to build partnerships so a portion of future proceeds can support existing autism programs and services.
The course is 3.1 miles (5K) and begins and finishes at Cooper's Beach. The route follows Meadow Lane, First Neck Lane, Great Plains Road, Captains Neck Lane, Boyeson Road, and Halsey Neck Lane before returning to Meadow Lane and the finish at Cooper's Beach. Dogs and bikes are not allowed on the race course. Strollers are permitted but are asked to start at the back of the field.
Amenities include t-shirts for the first 50 registrants who arrive early with sizes not guaranteed, finisher medals, water stations on the route, a food and refreshment table, music, a kids fun run, live text and email results, free finish line photos, and the option for a personalized bib if registered three weeks in advance. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female overall finishers.
Bib pickup is handled by event staff starting one hour before the event; a bib number is required for pickup. Last-minute registrants within 24 hours receive their bib number by text quickly. Registration is not yet open. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
