Unique Abilities 5K Run/Walk
The Unique Abilities 5K is a community run and walk hosted by Preston's Path Foundation that supports Autism Acceptance and inclusion. The event is scheduled for May 2, 2026, and takes place at Cooper's Beach in Southampton, New York.
The course distance is 3.1 miles (5K). The route starts and finishes at Cooper's Beach and follows Meadow Lane, First Neck Lane, Great Plains Road, Captains Neck Lane, Boyeson Road, and Halsey Neck Lane. Dogs and bikes are not allowed on the race course. Participants using strollers are asked to start at the back of the field.
Amenities include t-shirts for the first 50 registrants to arrive (sizes not guaranteed), finisher medals, water stations along the route, food and refreshments, music, a kids fun run, live and same-day results by text and email, free finish-line photos, and personalized bibs for those registered three weeks in advance.
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female overall finishers. Bib pickup is available from event staff starting one hour before the event; a bib number is required for pickup. Last-minute registrants receive their bib number by text shortly after registering.
The event is held in observance of Autism Acceptance Month. Organizers plan to partner with an established nonprofit so that a portion of proceeds can support existing autism programs and services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
