Petals 5K Run/Walk - Greenport
The Petals 5K Run/Walk is a community 5K run and walk held in Greenport, New York as the kickoff to the Cherry Blossom Festival in early May. The event is presented by AgroCouncil and takes place at the Greenport Fire Department, 236 3rd St., Greenport, NY 11944.
The event supports local nonprofits, with fundraising designated for AgroCouncil, the Greenport Business Improvement District and the Greenport Village Tree. A Cherry Blossom Map is distributed during the blossom season; maps are available at the AgroCouncil headquarters in the lobby of the Greenporter Hotel and at participating restaurants and shops.
Race amenities include live online, text and email results, free finish-line photos, and personalized bibs for participants who register at least three weeks in advance. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women and to the top three men and women in age groups 11 and under, 12-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, and 71+.
Bib pickup is handled on event day; participants must know their bib number or use the self-lookup area. If registration occurs more than 24 hours in advance, the bib number will be sent by text or email at least two hours prior to pickup. A 5K course map is available online.
