About the race
AgroCouncil presents the Run for the Petals 5K Run/Walk in Greenport. The event is held in early May 2026 and serves as the kickoff to the Cherry Blossom walk that runs during the Cherry Blossom Festival season. The venue is the Greenport Fire Department at 236 3rd St., Greenport, NY.
The event includes live online, text, and email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for those registered three weeks in advance. A 5K course map is provided for participants. Race day bib pickup is handled by event staff beginning one hour before the event; participants must know their bib number or use the self-lookup area. If registered more than 24 hours in advance, bib numbers are texted or emailed at least two hours before pickup.
Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women and to the top three men and women in the following age groups: 11 and under, 12-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, and 71 and over. The event raises funds for the AgroCouncil, the Greenport BID, and the Greenport Village Tree. Results and same-day finish-line photos are available online, and additional event photos are posted on the organizer’s social channels.
