Run for the Petals 5K Run/Walk
Run for the Petals is a community 5K event held on May 2, 2026, in Greenport, New York, with the Greenport Fire Department as the venue. The event is tied to the local Cherry Blossom Festival: a Cherry Blossom Map is distributed starting May 1 from the AgroCouncil headquarters or participating local businesses, and the map is free for visitors.
The event distance is 5K. Amenities include live online, text, and email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for participants who register at least three weeks before the event. A course map for the 5K is available online.
Awards are given to the top three overall men and women and to the top three men and women in the following age groups: 11 and under; 12-20; 21-30; 31-40; 41-50; 51-60; 61-70; 71 and up.
The event raises funds for local nonprofits: AgroCouncil, the Greenport Business Improvement District, and the Greenport Village Tree. Registration was not yet open at the time of this posting; organizers indicate registration will open ahead of the event date and that notifications are available for those who wish to be informed. Bib pickup is managed by event staff and there is a self-lookup option for participants who do not know their bib number. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
