Run for the Petals 5K Run/Walk
AgroCouncil presents the Run for the Petals 5K Run/Walk in Greenport, held at the Greenport Fire Department, 236 3rd St., Greenport, NY. The event serves as the kickoff for the Cherry Blossom season and connects with the Cherry Blossom Walk; a free Cherry Blossom Map is distributed from AgroCouncil headquarters in the Greenporter Hotel lobby and at participating local restaurants and shops during the festival period.
Amenities for participants include live online, text, and email results, free finish line photos and video, and the option for a personalized bib when registration occurs at least three weeks in advance. Bib pickup opens one hour before the event; participants must know their bib number to collect it, and a self lookup area is available. If registration is completed more than 24 hours prior, bib numbers will be sent by text or email at least two hours before pickup.
Awards are given to the top three overall men and women and to the top three men and women in standard age categories including 11 and under, 12 to 20, 21 to 30, 31 to 40, 41 to 50, 51 to 60, 61 to 70, and 71 and older. Fundraising from the event benefits AgroCouncil, Greenport BID, and the Greenport Village Tree. A 5K course map is provided for the route.
