Petals 5K Run/Walk
Run for the Petals is a community 5K run/walk presented by the AgroCouncil in Greenport. The event serves as the kickoff to the Cherry Blossom Festival season and takes place in early May. Related festival materials, including a free Cherry Blossom Map, are distributed beginning May 1 at the AgroCouncil headquarters and participating local businesses.
The event location is the Greenport Fire Department at 236 3rd St., Greenport, NY 11944. The course length is 5 kilometers and a course map is available online.
Event amenities include live online, text, and email results; free finish line photos; and personalized bibs for registrations submitted at least three weeks before the event. A self-lookup area is available for participants who do not know their bib number. Participants who register more than 24 hours before the event will receive their bib number by text or email.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall, plus top three men and women in age groups: 11 and under, 12-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, and 71 and over.
The event raises funds for local nonprofits, including AgroCouncil, Greenport BID, and the Greenport Village Tree. Registration is not yet open. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
