Limb Loss Awareness 5K
The Limb Loss Awareness 5K is an annual community event held in Kentwood, Michigan. The event serves as a platform to provide education and support to amputees and their families while raising funds for the City of Kentwood adaptive programming. These funds contribute to quality recreation opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities through the local Parks and Recreation department.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 1.75K (Resilience Race)
- 1 Mile (Fun Run)
The 3.1 Mile race is professionally timed and open to participants of all ability levels. For those seeking a shorter distance, the 1 Mile Fun Run consists of three laps around the park and is organized to allow other participants to cheer on the runners. The 1.75K Resilience Race is an out-and-back course that starts simultaneously with the 5K, designed for individuals who wish to set a personal goal on a shorter route.
The event takes place at 355 48th St SE. Registered participants receive a race entry, a long-sleeve shirt, and a swag bag. To ensure a t-shirt, registration must be completed by early April.
