Event Overview
The Martian Invasion of Races is an annual running event held in Dearborn, Michigan, taking place on April 11, 2026. The competition features a variety of distances suitable for different participants, with courses designed to be fast and traffic free. The start and finish lines are located at Ford Field Park.
The event offers several race distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 13.1M (Half Marathon)
- 26K
- 26.2M (Full Marathon)
- 1.2 Mile Kids' Marathon
The marathon course serves as a Boston Marathon Qualifying route. It consists of a loop system with a 6.5-hour time limit. Runners must pass the 12.8-mile mark by a specific cut-off time or they will be directed to the finish as half marathon finishers. The half marathon distance has a 4.75-hour time limit.
Course and Support
The routes are described as lightly rolling and beautiful, utilizing areas that are free from vehicle traffic. In the event of flooding on Hines Drive, alternative flood courses are prepared for the half marathon and marathon distances.
Aid stations are positioned approximately every two miles along the course, providing water, sports drinks, and energy gels. Restroom facilities are available roughly every five miles.
Recognition and Amenities
All participants who complete their race receive a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each race based on gun time. Age group awards are also distributed three-deep in five-year increments based on chip time. Cash prizes are available for the overall and masters winners in the 10K and for the top three male and female finishers in the marathon.
