The Detroit Auto Show 5K takes place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Detroit, MI. The event is organized by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Detroit Auto Show and the Friends of the Outdoor Adventure Center. The course distance is 5K and the route runs along the Detroit Riverfront, starting and finishing outside the doors of the Detroit Auto Show at Huntington Place. Auto Show public-day tickets are available at a 25% discount through the event: adult $15 ($20 at the door), senior $9 ($12 at the door), and child $7.50 ($10 at the door); Auto Show ticket sales end January 10 and show ticket prices increase after December 1. Early packet pick up is scheduled for Friday, January 16 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Outdoor Adventure Center. Race day packet pick up is available one hour before the race at Huntington Place. Awards are given to first place overall and to first place in each listed age group. Parking is available at Huntington Place (roof deck and garage) for a fee; parking is not included with registration.
