Marsh Peak Madness
Marsh Peak Madness is a trail event held near Lapoint, UT at the Middle Mountain Corral trail head. The course is a five mile loop that gains 1,244 feet in elevation and passes high mountain meadows around Gull Lake and views of Marsh Peak and Dry Fork Canyon. Several aid and water stations are located along the course. The venue is a short drive from Vernal.
The event is offered in multiple formats:
- 12 hours endurance
- 6 hours endurance
- 5 mile speed run
For the endurance formats, participants complete as many five mile loops as they can within their chosen time limit. Any loop not finished before the time limit ends does not count toward the total. The winner in each endurance category is the runner who completes the most loops in the allotted time. The speed run is decided by the first runner to complete a single loop.
When a course record is broken a cash prize is awarded. Cash prize amounts listed for record performances are $100 for the 12 hour endurance event, $50 for the 6 hour endurance event, and $25 for the 5 mile speed run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
