Marsh Peak Madness

Marsh Peak Madness is a trail running event held at the Middle Mountain Corral Trail Head near Gull Lake in the Uinta Mountains, Ashley National Forest, close to Vernal city. The course is a 5.25 mile loop that passes high mountain meadows and offers scenic views of Marsh Peak, Lake Mountain, and Dry Fork Canyon. Several aid and water stations are positioned throughout the course.

The event is offered in multiple formats:

12-hour endurance - runners complete as many loops as possible within the time limit
6-hour endurance - runners complete as many loops as possible within the time limit
5.25 mile speed run - single-loop race where the fastest finisher wins

For the endurance formats, only fully completed loops count toward the total; partial loops at the end of a time limit are not counted. The course includes an elevation gain of 1,193 ft over each 5.25 mile loop. Course records are tracked, and cash prizes are awarded when a new course record is set: $100 for the 12-hour event, $50 for the 6-hour event, and $25 for the speed run.
