Event Overview

Marsh Peak Madness is an endurance and speed trail running event held at the Middle Mountain Corral Trail Head in the Ashley National Forest within the Uinta Mountains. The event is located a short distance from Vernal, Utah. The course consists of a 5 mile trail loop that passes through high mountain meadows near Gull Lake. Participants encounter an elevation gain of 1,193 feet per loop. The route features views of Marsh Peak and vistas looking into Dry Fork Canyon from the top of Lake Mountain.

Distance and Format Options

The event offers three distinct options for participants:

  • 12 Hour Endurance: A time-limited race where participants complete as many 5 mile loops as possible.
  • 6 Hour Endurance: A time-limited race where participants complete as many 5 mile loops as possible.
  • 5 Mile Speed Run: A single-loop race focused on the fastest completion time.

For the endurance categories, only full loops completed within the specified time limit are counted toward the final total.
