Event
Marsh Peak Madness is a trail endurance and speed event held near Lapoint, Utah, in the High Uintah Mountains. The course runs around Gull Lake and Marsh Peak and is located at the Middle Mountain Corral trailhead. The site is a short drive from Vernal city.
Distances and formats
- 12-hour endurance - complete as many 5.25 mile loops as possible
- 6-hour endurance - complete as many 5.25 mile loops as possible
- 5-mile speed run - single-loop race (5.25 mile loop)
Course and rules
The loop measures 5.25 miles with a total elevation gain of 1,244 ft per loop. Several aid and water stations are placed throughout the course. In the endurance events, a loop that is not finished before the time limit does not count toward a runner's total. The endurance winner is the participant with the most completed loops in their time limit. The speed-run winner is the first runner to complete the loop.
Prizes and registration
Cash prizes are awarded when a new course record is set: $100 for the 12-hour event, $50 for the 6-hour event, and $25 for the 5-mile speed run. Registration closes on Wed, Jun 3 @ 11:59PM MT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
