Firecracker 5K and Mile - Vernal, UT
The Firecracker 5K and one mile races are part of the Dinosaurland Freedom Fest celebrating 250 years of America. The event takes place in Vernal at 450 N 2000 W, Aggie Blvd and ends near the Field of Flags as part of the community festivities. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white and blue or other patriotic attire.
The 5K course begins at UBTECH and finishes at Ashley Community Park. Shuttle buses are provided to transport runners from the park to UBTECH before the 5K; there is no shuttle service after the race. Parking is available near UBTECH and USU. Same-day check-in and registration are handled at UBTECH before the 5K, but check-in closes prior to the race start.
Packet, shirt and bib pickup is offered at Uintah Recreation Center on July 3 and on the morning of July 4 at event locations. Registrations received by June 19 are guaranteed a race shirt; additional shirts will be available as supplies last.
All finishers receive custom medals, a race shirt and a swag bag. The first 250 registered entrants receive a limited edition America 250 pin. Professional timing is provided by Lickety Split Timing and results will be posted online. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in the men’s and women’s 5K divisions and to the top three in the one mile race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
