The Marquette Trail 50 is a trail race weekend in Marquette, Michigan on August 14-15, 2026 at the Noquemanon Trail Network - Forestville Trailhead. The event includes these distances:
- 50 miles
- 50 kilometers
- 1 mile (kids trail race on Friday evening)
Course and race details
The course is mostly single-track and climbs four named peaks: Sugarloaf, Top-of-the-World, Bareback, and Hogback. Portions of the route skirt the Lake Superior shoreline. The trail includes moderate to difficult terrain with significant climbs and technical sections; the course is rated 3/5 for terrain and 4/5 for surface. Time limits are 12 hours for the 50K and 15 hours for the 50M. The event is cupless - participants must carry a bottle, cup, or hydration system for aid station refills. Aid stations provide water, sports drink, gels, fruit, sandwiches, and other snacks.
Registration, capacity and logistics
Registration opened November 28, 2025 and closes August 7, 2026 or when capacity is reached. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Field sizes are limited to 375 for the 50K and 175 for the 50M. Parking at the Forestville Trailhead is limited and preference is given to carpoolers. Merchandise purchased in advance must be picked up on race day and will not be shipped. Volunteer incentives include a T-shirt or buff and a complimentary future entry for 8+ hours of service.
