The Marquette Trail 50 is a trail running weekend at the Noquemanon Trail Network - Forestville Trailhead in Marquette, Michigan. The event offers the following distances:
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- 1 Mile (kids)
Registration for the 2026 event opens and closes on posted dates and is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Course and event details
The course is mostly single-track and climbs four named peaks: Sugarloaf, Top-of-the-World, Bareback, and Hogback. Many sections have views of Lake Superior and some parts of the course skirt the shoreline. Much of the trail has moderate to difficult terrain, including significant climbs and technical sections. Ultrarunning Magazine rates the course 3 out of 5 for Terrain and 4 out of 5 for Surface.
Aid stations are stocked with water, sports drink, gels, fruit, cookies, PBJ sandwiches, pretzels, chips, granola bars, and candy. The event is cupless; participants must carry a bottle, cup, or hydration system to refill at aid stations. Time limits are set for each distance: 50K - 12 hours and 50 Mile - 15 hours. The event is organized by volunteers and proceeds support the trail organizations the course crosses and some local cross country teams.
