Event Overview
The Marlette event features trail runs on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The two main distances are the Marlette 50K and the Marlette 10 Miler, which both start at Spooner Lake within Nevada’s Lake Tahoe State Park.
Course Details
The Marlette 50K course starts at Spooner Lake and travels through trails in the Lake Tahoe region, offering views of Lake Tahoe, Marlette Lake, and the Carson Valley and Range.
The Marlette 10 Miler also starts at Spooner Lake. It begins with a loop around the lake, then follows an out-and-back section on the Tahoe Rim Trail before completing the loop around Spooner Lake to the finish. The course provides views of North Canyon, Lake Tahoe, and Snow Valley Peak.
The event also includes the Spooner Lake 10K and 5K races. The Spooner Lake course navigates around the lake on singletrack trails through aspen groves and forested space.
Additional Information
There are several aid stations along each course providing water, electrolyte drinks, salty snacks, pickles, cola, ice, and gel. There are specific time cutoffs for the 50K race at mile 14.8 (4 hours 30 minutes after start) and mile 20 (6 hours after start).
Registration fees vary by date and category, with discounts available for youth, seniors, clubs, teams, challenged athletes, and military personnel. An event t-shirt, finisher medal, digital photos, and post-event food are included in the race fee. Awards are given in 5-year age groups.
