Event Overview
The Carson Valley Turkey Trot Fun Run returns for its ninth year in Minden, Nevada. This event takes place in the downtown area and serves as a local way to begin the Thanksgiving holiday. The course leads participants through the residential neighborhoods of downtown Minden, starting and finishing at Minden Park.
The event offers several ways to participate:
- 5K Run/Walk: A five-kilometer loop through the downtown Minden streets.
- Kid's Turkey Dash: A 0.2 mile course consisting of one or more laps around Minden Park for children aged 12 and under.
- Virtual Turkey Trot 5K: A flexible option that allows participants to complete the distance on their own schedule and preferred course throughout the month of November.
Registered participants in the in-person 5K receive a race bib, t-shirt, medal, and a bag with various items. Children in the Turkey Dash receive a race bib and a small bag. In-person participants in the 5K may bring well-behaved, leashed dogs and children in strollers. Bicycles, scooters, and other wheeled transport are not permitted on the course.
The local Food Closet serves as a collection point for gear bags in the week leading up to the race. If the event reaches capacity prior to the date, on-site registration is available on the morning of the event for those wishing to join.
