Market Harborough Carnival Run 2026
The Market Harborough Carnival Run returns to Leicestershire on June 6, 2026. This annual summer event takes place alongside the town's carnival celebrations, starting and finishing at the Carnival Showground located in the centre of Market Harborough. The event offers two distinct distances:
- 10 km
- 6 km
The 10 km route follows a flat, single-loop course on closed roads. Participants run through the town centre, passing the iconic Old Grammar School before exiting the main town area. This route includes a gentle climb toward the Grand Union Canal, where runners follow a newly refurbished canal path before returning to the town for a sprint finish at the Showground. The 10 km race has a designated cut-off time of 90 minutes.
The 6 km option is a shorter alternative that remains in and around the town centre. This route allows participants to experience the central carnival atmosphere without completing the full loop to the canal. Both distances share the same start and finish locations.
Facilities at the Race HQ, located at the Symington Recreation Ground, include a baggage store, toilets, and water stations. Distance markers are provided along the course. No changing or shower facilities are available on-site. The event is held on road surfaces and is not suitable for wheelchair users. Each participant receives a medal which provides free access to the afternoon carnival stalls and music events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
