Event Overview
The Market Harborough Carnival Run returns in 2026 with two race distances: a traditional 10 km route and a new 6 km option. Both races start and finish at the Carnival Showground on the Symington Recreation Ground in the town center.
Race Routes
The 10 km course begins in the town center on closed roads lined with spectators and passes through the carnival party atmosphere. Runners then exit the town for a gentle climb, offering scenic views of the Grand Union Canal along a refurbished canal path, before returning through town past the Old Grammar School to the finish. The 6 km route offers a similar party atmosphere but stays within the town center area.
Event Details
The event is part of the larger Market Harborough Carnival. After finishing, runners receive a medal that grants free access to the carnival's afternoon and evening stalls, events, and music. There is a 90-minute cutoff time for the 10 km race, and the course is noted as unsuitable for wheelchair users.
