Marina 2 Marina
Marina 2 Marina is an annual running and walking event held in the Marlborough Sounds that uses trails between Picton, Waikawa and Anakiwa. Courses run through native bush and along waterfront paths and offer panoramic views of the Marlborough Sounds. The event begins and ends at London Quay, Picton, where a festival atmosphere and family entertainment are provided.
One course, The Link, follows the Link Pathway from Anakiwa to Picton along approximately 24 km of trail. The Link includes hilly terrain and a total elevation gain of 535 m. The Link also offers an optional boat transfer from London Quay to the Anakiwa start; the boat is available for competitors only due to restricted numbers.
Other courses use local tracks between Picton and Waikawa and along the Snout. Some courses have both running and walking options. The event is community led and run by Marlborough Events Ltd, with profits donated to the Picton and Waikawa community.
