Marazion Triathlon - The Kernowman
The Kernowman takes place on Marazion Beach with St Michael's Mount as a backdrop and racing across Mount's Bay. The swim is held in the typically calm waters in front of the mount. The bike uses quiet west Cornwall country lanes described as Cornish flat, and the run follows a fast, flat path along the Marazion sea front where spectators watch near the finish.
Distances offered range from Super Sprint up to a Middle Distance 70.3 and include an Aquabike and junior events in the afternoon. Wetsuits are mandatory and may be shortie or full body.
All competitors receive a medal on completion. Kernowman finisher T-shirts are provided on the event day; entries made within two weeks of the event will not receive a T-shirt.
Parking is limited at the Folly Fields car park; an overflow car park about 100 m away can hold 700 cars. Both car parks are pay on exit and parking is the responsibility of attendees.
The event includes mapped bike and run courses. The 70.3 and Aquabike use two bike loops, the Olympic distance uses one bike loop, and the Super Sprint uses one bike loop. Volunteer roles start from age 13 and include setup, marshalling, transition and finish line duties. Volunteer credits are added to participant wallets three days after the event and can be used for future entries or merchandise. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
