Marazion Triathlon
The Marazion Triathlon takes place at Marazion Beach in west Cornwall, featuring St Michael's Mount as a backdrop for the event. The competition begins with a swim in the waters of Mount's Bay, typically characterized by calm conditions. Participants then transition to a bike course described as Cornish flat, which utilizes quiet country lanes throughout the local area. The final segment is a fast and flat run conducted along the Marazion sea front path.
The event offers several race formats and distances to accommodate different experience levels:
- Kernowman Super Sprint: 400m swim, 15km bike, and 2.5km run.
- Kernowman Olympic: 1500m swim, 40km bike, and 10km run.
- Kernowman 70.3 (Individual or Relay): 1900m swim, 90km bike, and 21.1km run.
- Kernowman Aquabike: 1900m swim and 90km bike.
The sea front path used for the run is accessible to passers-by and spectators. Age requirements vary by distance, with the Super Sprint open to those aged 15 and over, the Olympic distance for ages 17 and over, and the 70.3 and Aquabike events open to entrants aged 19 and over.
