Marazion Triathlon - The Kernowman
The event is held at Marazion Beach, TR17 0EQ, with St Michael's Mount as a visible backdrop in Mount's Bay. The swim takes place in typically calm waters in front of the mount. The bike uses quiet west Cornwall country lanes described as a Cornish flat course. The run follows a fast, flat path along the Marazion seafront where spectators can view the finish.
Distances are offered across multiple formats:
- Kernowman 70.3: 1900m swim, 90km bike, 21.1km run
- Olympic: 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run
- Super Sprint: 400m swim, 10k bike, 2.5k run
- Kernowman Aquabike: 1900m swim, 90km bike
A middle distance Aquabike option is available for athletes who prefer not to include the run. Wetsuits are mandatory; shortie or full body wetsuits are permitted. All competitors receive a medal on completion of their event.
The event is part of the Cornish Tri Series where series points are awarded and final standings use a best of four scoring system plus volunteer requirements. Limited parking is available at Folly Fields car park with an overflow car park approximately 100m away offering around 700 spaces; both car parks are pay and display.
