Summer Turkey Trot
The Summer Turkey Trot is a four-mile road race that starts and finishes at Tricky's, Tolgus Mount, Redruth TR15 3TA. The event is organised by Cornwall Athletic Club and is part of the Cornwall Grand Prix Series. The course is ARC certified (ARC permit ARC/26/0534) and 2026 marks the 51st running of the Turkey Trot series that covers both summer and winter races.
Race headquarters and registration are in the Garden Room at Tricky's. Registration is held on the day and entrants must collect their race number and ankle timing chip; timing chips must be returned after the race. The event is chip timed and placings are awarded using gun to chip time. The minimum age to enter is 15. Entries may be accepted on the day if the race limit has not been reached.
The route follows a left-turn course from Tolgus Mount toward Illogan, along Higher Broad Lane, Barncoose Terrace and the A3047 before returning to Tolgus Mount. Marshals are present but cannot stop traffic, so runners are responsible for their own safety at junctions. There are no water stations on the course. Dogs, wheelchairs, wheeled carriages and cycles are not permitted and competitors may not be accompanied or followed. Presentations take place at Tricky's after the race. Transfers of entries are permitted until 5pm on Monday 13 July. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
