Summer Turkey Trot
The Summer Turkey Trot is a 4 mile road race organised by Cornwall Athletic Club. The event starts and finishes at Tricky's Hotel, Bar and Restaurant at Tolgus Mount, Redruth TR15 3TA, and is part of the Cornwall Grand Prix Series. The course is ARC certified and covered by ARC permit ARC/26/0534. 2026 is the 51st running of the Turkey Trot series.
Race headquarters and registration are in the Garden Room at Tricky's. Entrants must collect their race number and an ankle timing chip on the day and must return the chip after the race. The minimum age for entry is 15. Entries may be accepted on the day if the race limit has not been reached. Parking is available at Tricky's and a baggage store is provided in the Garden Room; baggage and contents are left at the entrant's own risk.
The race is chip timed and placings are awarded using gun to chip time. MP3 players and other personal audio devices are banned for safety and may lead to disqualification if worn. There are no water stations on the course. Dogs, wheelchairs, wheeled carriages and cycles are not permitted and competitors must not be accompanied or followed on foot or by vehicle.
The course follows a left turn route from Tolgus Mount towards Illogan via Higher Broad Lane, Barncoose Terrace and the A3047 before returning to Tolgus Mount. Marshals cannot stop traffic so runners are responsible for their own safety when crossing junctions and must check for vehicles and hazards. Prizes include vouchers for top finishers and age category awards. Transfers of entries are permitted up to the published transfer deadline.
