Marauder Trotter 5K Run/Walk
The 12th annual Marauder Trotter 5K Run/Walk takes place on July 4, 2026 at Wright Park in Dunkirk, New York. The event is organized as two separate events: a timed 5K run and a 3.1 mile walk.

- 5K run (running only)
- 3.1 miles walk (walking only)
The 5K course follows the Dunkirk lakefront between Wright Park and Memorial Park. The route begins at Wright Park, continues on Lake Front Boulevard, follows a waterfront path past the pier, loops around Memorial Park, returns across the pier and follows Lake Front Boulevard back to Wright Park.
Registration opens December 31, 2025 and online registration closes July 2, 2026. Entry fees are listed as Adult $25.00 and Student $20.00. Day of race entry is $30.00 and does not include a t-shirt. T-shirts are included with registration for entries received by June 26, 2026.
Awards include a $100 cash prize for the top male and top female first place run finishers. Medal awards are given to the overall first place male and female in the run and to the top three finishers in each age group for both the walk and the run. Age categories range from 14 and under through 70 and older.
Proceeds support the DHS Class of 1989 Memorial Scholarship Fund, managed by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation. The fund has received over $82,000 through support of this event and other sources since 2014. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
