Event Overview
The Marauder Trotter 5K Run/Walk is a charity event supporting the DHS Class of 1989 Memorial Scholarship Fund, managed by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF). Proceeds from the event are donated to this fund. The 2026 event will be its 11th annual edition.
Location and Course
The event is held at Wright Park in Dunkirk, New York. The start and finish are at the same location. The course covers the Dunkirk Lakefront between Wright Park and Memorial Park, traveling along Lake Front Boulevard and paths near the waterfront and around a pier.
Events and Registration
Participants can choose between a 5K run or a 5K walk.
Standard registration costs $25 for adults and $20 for students. T-shirts are included with registration if completed by a specified date. Race-day registration is available at a higher fee but does not include a t-shirt.
Awards and Categories
A $100 cash prize is awarded to the top male and female finishers in the run. Medal awards are given to the overall first-place male and female winners in the run, and to the top three finishers in each age group for both the walk and the run.
Age categories are separated by gender and include: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
