Marauder Trotter 5K Run/Walk
The Marauder Trotter 5K Run/Walk takes place on July 4, 2026 at Wright Park in Dunkirk, New York. The event includes a running event and a walking event that follow a course along the Dunkirk lakefront between Wright Park and Memorial Park.

The route begins at Wright Park, proceeds along Lake Front Boulevard, follows a waterfront path by the pier, loops around Memorial Park, and returns to Wright Park for the finish. Awards include a $100 cash prize for the top male and top female finishers in the run. Medals are awarded to the overall first place male and female in the run and to the top three finishers in each age category for both run and walk events.
Age categories are provided for male and female participants and include 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and older.
Race proceeds support the DHS Class of 1989 Memorial Scholarship Fund managed by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation. Since 2014 the fund has received over $82,000 through the event and other sources. T shirts are provided with race registration for entries completed by June 26, 2026. Day of registration is available for an increased fee and does not include a T shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
