The ASICS Manchester Half
The ASICS Manchester Half is a 13.1-mile running event that takes place annually in October. Since its launch in 2016, it has grown to become the largest half marathon in the region, with the 2025 edition hosting over 28,000 participants. For 2026, the event is set to accommodate up to 32,000 runners.
The course is characterized by its flat terrain, containing no major hills. This layout is designed to facilitate fast times and personal bests. The route takes place on closed roads and traditionally starts and finishes near Old Trafford. Entertainment is provided throughout the course, including live musical acts, DJs, and dedicated cheer zones.
The event features:
- A flat course with high potential for personal records.
- Entirely closed-road route through Manchester.
- Participation from elite athletes and charity fundraisers.
- Official licensing by England Athletics under UK Athletics Rules for Competition.
All finishers receive a quality commemorative medal. The event also maintains a focus on community and sustainability, offering various roles for volunteers such as handing out water or presenting medals. Official training support is available through partners, including specific kit guides and mobile training plans. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
