Manchester Half Marathon
The Manchester Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile (approximately 21.1 km) running event that takes place annually in October. The course is notable for being flat, with no major hills, which provides participants with the potential for fast times. The route traditionally starts and finishes near Old Trafford and includes landmarks such as Manchester United FC.
The event features a closed-road route through Greater Manchester. Along the course, participants encounter various entertainment points, including live music acts, DJs, and designated cheer zones. Since its inception in 2016, the event has grown significantly, with the 2025 edition hosting over 28,000 participants.
The event is licensed by England Athletics and is held under UK Athletics Rules for Competition. All finishers receive a medal upon completion of the course. The event focus is entirely on the half marathon distance, and it does not share the course with a 10K race on the same day.
