Manchester Airport Duathlon
McA Fitness stages the Manchester Airport Duathlon at the Airport Inn in Wilmslow, set in the Cheshire village of Ashley near Manchester Airport. The event offers two distances and a course designed to be accessible for first-time multisport participants as well as those with some experience.
Distances
- Super Sprint: created for first timers
- Sprint: aimed at those with some duathlon experience
The run course is a flat out-and-back that passes beneath the runway tunnels. Both run legs are out-and-back. The bike route uses quiet country lanes around Ashley, Mobberley and Wilmslow, and is ridden anticlockwise for the event laps (Super Sprint one lap, Sprint two laps). The route is fully signposted and marshalled.
Event logistics include participant parking at the hotel venue with free parking for entrants who register their vehicle, on-site registration with a race number and helmet check, and a clearly marked transition area with limited space. Mount and dismount lines are outside transition and participants must walk or jog their bike to and from these lines. All riders must wear a fastened helmet before touching their bike. Finish times are recorded automatically. Water and sweets are provided at the finish and spectators are welcome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
