Manchester - Let Them Eat Cake
This is a timed, multi lap running event at Hardy Farm beside the River Mersey in Chorlton Water Park. Participants may complete as many laps as they like within a seven hour time limit; the minimum distance is one lap. A mandatory race brief is sent one week before the event.
Distances offered include:
- 5 km to 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra
The course is off road on a riverside towpath. The overall profile has very little elevation gain or loss, making the route largely flat.
A vegetarian aid station is available all day and includes many vegan and gluten free items. Examples listed are bananas, dates, jelly sweets, crisps, some form of cake, squash, and full sugar cola. Participants with severe life threatening allergies should bring their own food due to possible cross contamination.
Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and changing rooms. Parking is available for 75 cars at Hardy Farm on a first come, first served basis, with additional parking for up to 100 cars across the river at Sale Water Park, a 15 minute walk away. Additional public and paid parking is also available around Chorlton Water Park.
Entries include a bespoke finishers medal and a slice of cake or a cookie to takeaway. Finch Bakery will attend with a cake van. The chosen charity is to be confirmed. All participants, attended or virtual, receive a giveaway medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
