About the race
The Manawatu Wanganui Road Champs are held beside Beaconsfield Memorial Hall in Waituna West on an out-and-back course that starts and finishes adjacent to the hall. The event is open races for each grade as part of the Manawatu Wanganui centre championships and includes separate championship and non-championship options for some walks and youth events.
Entry options and fees are specified for club members and visitors, with a published entry fee of $10 and a reduced visitor fee for under 18s. Course inspection is available when the course is marked.
Programme highlights include a range of graded races with distances set by age and grade. Distances listed include:
- 10 km events for senior men/women, masters men 35-64 and open walk
- 8 km events for U20 men and masters men 65+
- 6 km U18 men
- 5 km U16, U18 and U20 women, masters women 35+ and a non-championship 5 km option
- 3 km U12/U14 and under 16 walk
- 2 km U10 boys and girls
- 1 km under 8 boys and girls
Changing rooms and toilets are available at the hall beside the start/finish. A first aid kit and a defibrillator will be available at the start/finish. Results and afternoon tea are scheduled at the hall after the event; participants are asked to contribute a plate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
